On the Road Again in Fort Wayne

It's been a while but let's see if I remember how to do this.
It's been a little over 4 years since the last post, that's because we bought a place in Winter Garden ,Florida and have been spending the winters down there and we had a lot in a park in Homer Michigan to be able to spend the summers with the daughters family and mess around with the grand kids.
Well the daughter and her husband moved to Naples last month, the grandson is doing his last year at Loyola-Chicago and the granddaughter is starting at University of Central Florida.  So we were the only ones left in Michigan.  We got lucky and sold our place before we even listed it, so it's back into the motorhome and on the road, at least during the summer months.  Of course our first stop is Fort Wayne,Indiana for a week so Cathy can do some genealogy research.

Fort Wayne has Miles of bike trails along the three rivers that wind through the city, St Joseph, St Marys and Maumee.  The St Joe was one of the boundaries of our park in Michigan.

This is where all three rivers come together and is mile 0.0 for all the river paths

St Joseph River

This path took us from our campground at Johnny Appleseed Park to The historic fort downtown.

Discovery Gardens

After spending an hour at the DMV for Cathy to re-new her driver license we headed over to Tavares to walk around the Discovery Gardens.  This is a small garden but has always been one of our favorites.

We always find something new there.

Remember the Movie Little Shop of Horrors, this could be the plant that kept saying "FEED ME"
The leafs bloom red and then slowly turn green.

This is called the Yesterday-Today & Tomorrow plant, that's because it blooms purple, the next day it's violet and the third day it's white.
Just a neet looking flower

One of the volunteers makes these from things she picks up at garage sales and has them placed around the gardens.

Peace River Wildlife Center Revisited

Did another bike ride out to PRWC .  There were about ten times more people then normal today.  We found out that the center had been on Fox and Friends this week, they did a story about a rescued Eagle that was electrocuted last week.  I think everybody was there to see the Eagle but it was in a confined area until it gets stronger.
So this is what we saw.
