Krider World's Fair Garden

Took a little drive over to Middlebury, Ind where they have the World's Fair Garden.  It's a small garden and doesn't take to long to walk through but it is also the middle parking spot for the Punpkinvine bicycle trail so we made it a twofer.

And now onto the Bike trail
There are restaurants,  stores and bathrooms  at both ends as well as bathrooms in the middle.
Total paved trail is about 12 miles

It passes through the Amish farms

Horse and buggy parked at the Dairy Queen along side the path

Wellfield Botanical Gardens , Elkhart,Ind

We stopped by Wellfield Gardens today in Elkhart Indiana.  This is one of the nicest gardens we've been to in years, not to big and not to small.  About an hour to an hour and a half to walk through and see everything.  There are sculptures throughout the gardens and many of them are some what hidden.
If you are in the area with some extra time this is worth the stop.

Click on a picture to enlarge.

On these wind chimes the longest pipe is about 12 foot

Cathy spotted this in a city park, they are about 35 feet tall

They have quilt gardens everywhere around here, even have a trail map for you to follow

On the Road Again in Fort Wayne

It's been a while but let's see if I remember how to do this.
It's been a little over 4 years since the last post, that's because we bought a place in Winter Garden ,Florida and have been spending the winters down there and we had a lot in a park in Homer Michigan to be able to spend the summers with the daughters family and mess around with the grand kids.
Well the daughter and her husband moved to Naples last month, the grandson is doing his last year at Loyola-Chicago and the granddaughter is starting at University of Central Florida.  So we were the only ones left in Michigan.  We got lucky and sold our place before we even listed it, so it's back into the motorhome and on the road, at least during the summer months.  Of course our first stop is Fort Wayne,Indiana for a week so Cathy can do some genealogy research.

A few Pictures from the Rose Garden

Fort Wayne has Miles of bike trails along the three rivers that wind through the city, St Joseph, St Marys and Maumee.  The St Joe was one of the boundaries of our park in Michigan.

This is where all three rivers come together and is mile 0.0 for all the river paths

St Joseph River

This path took us from our campground at Johnny Appleseed Park to The historic fort downtown.
